Know More About Product Creation Blueprint

December 28th, 2009
THOMAS KONGA asked:

Product creation is the most important skill to master if you want to thrive online. Yes, you can be an affiliate but do you really think Ewe China, the World’s #1 Super Affiliate, only sells other people’s products? In fact, at the World Internet Summit Singapore 2007, Ewe stressed the importance of product creation repeatedly. Why is product creation important? Simple. To thrive in the world of Internet Marketing, you have to brand yourself. Creating or having your own products gives you the right to call it yours, and in so doing branding yourself in that niche. For instance, Ewe told us at the seminar that he would blast his name everywhere from Web Banners to special reports to establish himself as an expert in the readers’ minds subconsciously. For more information logon to www.instant-cd-products.com .What Products Do I Create? The law is simple but profound; give them more of what they already want the most effective way that I have come across is to search on e-bay, Amazon and other sites that show the existing customer spending patterns. No, I am not only looking for the best-sellers to know what content the customers want. I am looking for: The first two may seem trivial at first, but it is proven that the cover art compels while the titles sell not the content. Sure, a book may have good content but changing its title may increase sales by more than 200%.Look for the top 20 Books in every niche and you will begin to see the pattern. The Best-sellers usually have some property in common – titles like “Getting Started”, “30 Day Road Map”, “…. In 1 Minute” or cover art that have no more than 3 colors. (It is a psychological thing.)The most important thing here is to look for the reviews of the product. This is where the emotionally charged customers tell you exactly what they like or do not like in the product. Again, give them more of what they want and less of what they do not. If you decided on a Best-Seller from the recommended sites, it is almost guaranteed that there is a market for that product but just to be sure, validates your choice of product by searching for keywords in inventory. Overture. or freekeywords.wordtracker.com on that product. What keywords do you type in? Sites like Amazon can help you – under the book cover, there is a link called “Statistically Improbable Phrases” which tells you what phrases people most passionate in the niche use. How Do I Create My Own Product? Now that you have found out what product you want to create, it is time to take some massive action. There are ultimately three ways – Do-It-Yourself, buy, outsource. If you are passionate about your niche, write down a list of what you would like to know about the topic and the reviews from the first step. Write about what the customers want and you are 100% safe another way is not to gather the information through research you but to ask the writers their opinions on topics – especially what the customers want to know. To know more logon to www.instant-info-riches.com .You can have that recorded in audio or transcribed and sold off as your main or bonus product. Buy Chances are, there are some books out there that already have what you are looking for, gathering dust due to poor marketing. Get in touch with the author and ask if you could buy the Rights to the book that will allow you to change its cover, title and if possible even the author’s name. Outsource lastly, you could pay a writer to get your information product done for you at sites like Elance. A good E-Book can be written for about US$500 but this is the most risky option as the content may not be satisfactory to you. You can choose to edit it, but I find it rather difficult to edit something that I did not write. There will be gaps in style, tone and sometimes even quality but if you choose this option do read the testimonials of each author. If you have read this far, you probably want to create your product soon, so do something towards the attainment of that goal now! Product creation is a long and winding task, but take it one day at a time and you will be fine. Remember this though – the product is important but marketing is King.

How to Optimize Your Amazon Profile to Market Your Book

December 27th, 2009
Phyllis Zimbler Miller asked:

Having your book on Amazon is a very exciting prospect. You can tell all your friends “you can buy my book on Amazon.” But what about all the people who don’t know you and who are on Amazon looking for books to buy?

Published and self-published authors can optimize their exposure on Amazon thanks to many author-friendly features. And if you don’t know about these opportunities, you’re wasting free book marketing resources.

In this article we’ll be looking at optimizing your profile on Amazon. (One word of caution: It is very difficult to connect with a real person on Amazon concerning author activities, so you may encounter problems that you are unable to resolve.)

Step 1: Have your own account on Amazon. Sounds basic but it is necessary. All this requires is buying one product on Amazon with a credit card in your name. (If you share an account with your spouse or family, set up a separate account.)

Step 2: Sign-in to your account. You’ll see at the top left-hand corner of your computer screen the words “Hello, Your Name.” Right below that click on “Your Name’s Amazon.com.” Then slide your eyes over to the right and look under the shopping cart icon and to the left and you’ll see “Your Profile.” (Make sure you’re wearing your glasses because the wording is small.) Click on this.

Step 3: Now you’re at your profile, which every person with an account on Amazon has. But this is definitely an author-opportunity page. And, yes, there are privacy controls here too (as on Facebook) so you can choose which information is seen by whom. Click on the button in the top right-hand corner that sees “Edit Profile.” (You will again be asked to sign-in as extra protection that other people aren’t editing your Amazon profile.)

Step 4: Start filling out the bio information. For an author, the most important line may be the “Name” because that is the name that will appear on any reviews and other activities you do on Amazon. Make sure that this is the same name as used for your book. For example, your credit card (used to set up your Amazon account) may only have a first and last name. But if you use three names for your author identification, put all three names here.

(And be sure to upload a photo – people want to know what the author looks like. If you’re on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, it’s a good idea to use the same photo across all platforms to increase your recognition factor.)

Step 5: All important “Signature” line. This is the signature line that appears after your name for the reviews that you do on Amazon. You can include the names of your books or your brand’s tagline. (When you change the signature line in your profile, your signature is changed throughout Amazon on all the previous reviews, etc. you have done on the site.)

Step 6: Do share personal information with which you are comfortable on this profile. Readers like to know about an author – sharing information gives a more three-dimensional feeling to who you are. And include the URL of your book’s website if you have one.

Step 7: Go through the process of having your own books approved for your Amazon bibliography. This requires an outside representative to confirm to Amazon that you are indeed you.

Step 8: If you have a blog, have your blog posts automatically feed into your profile. (Carefully read the “Add RSS Feeds” information.)

Step 9: Recommend tags for your book. And write brief reasons for each tag as to why that tag is appropriate for this book. These tags must then be approved by Amazon.

Step 10: Check the privacy settings you have used on each of the elements of your profile. You may choose to have different settings on different types of information.

BONUS STEP: Make sure that you or your publisher have requested the “Look Inside” the book feature. This feature is NOT automatic. You want potential book buyers to be able to look inside the book as they could at a bookstore.

How To Develop Profitable Digital Products

December 27th, 2009
Pawel Reszka asked:

Developing digital products for an informed group of audience is most certainly a difficult task and hence, you have to be extremely careful regarding what you offer. There are three fundamentals to developing profitable digital products and if you follow them it will easier for you to build a business strategy and a revenue generation model around them. The three fundamentals are:

Innovation

Innovation is a wide area per say, but you need to define innovation according to the product you are trying to sell. For example: there are many businesses, which have been working towards creating a platform where people can be a part of a community and share their lives and work. Now there are many such communities from hi5.com to facebook and each of these products have a thin line of difference. That is why when myspace.com launched, it became a huge success. There is a major line of difference between my space.com and hi5.com. Hi5.com is a community site where people can make friends and it stops at that. At myspace.com, you can make friends, put up your songs and videos on air and do much more in terms of freedom to express. As a result of this, myspace.com is a profitable product.

Launch a new product

Launching a new product is never as easy as it seems. There are many factors that drive the launching of a new product like existing markets and their behavior, target audience and their likes and dislikes, initial capital vs. output, break even period etc. These are applicable for any kind of product whether digital or non-digital and are also applicable for online products like a shopping store. For example: online shopping has been there for quite some time but there are two websites, which made the maximum impact and created a benchmark. One of them is amazon.com and the other is eBay. Now how are these two websites different from the rest of the websites? Amazon and eBay handle different segments of customers. Amazon is an online shopping mega store where new products are added on a daily basis so that the customer can have a varied choice. They offer a price that is discounted and apart from that they ensure that your shopping experience is wonderful.

On the other hand, eBay is an e-commerce portal where you can sell as well as buy products. It has two- way traffic. If you have a digital product that you want to sell, then you can put it up on eBay and get requests from probably customers around the world. So in a way, it is a bigger marketplace. As a customer, you will get to choose from different varieties of the same product: for example, you can find 10 different brands selling a digital SLR with almost the same features. You can always buy based on the features, the brand name or the price offered. So there is a lot of flexibility that has helped eBay become a highly profitable business.

Finding new markets

This is the mantra for any and every business. The markets of today are volatile and competition is fierce. The only way to succeed is either by creating a niche where only your product will survive or by expanding to newer markets that are replete with potential customers. For example: If you are selling a concept like customized travel plans then you know that your worldwide market is already saturated, so how will you be able to derive profit out of it. So what you can do is look for a new market by positioning your product in a different way or for a different class of people. One of the new markets in travel is backpacking and you can target your product to backpackers and thus derive maximum profit.

The important thing to remember here is that strategic imperatives can be voiced out with ease but the toughest part will always be executing the strategies. You need to keep in mind the following factors before you can think about deriving a profit:

1. Advancement of technology and the rapid changes

2. Shifting of customer preference

3. Developing a business model that is not change-resistant and risk-averse

If you are able to incorporate the above three then you will be able to capitalize over changing markets and derive profit from every venture.
